Wiki Page

Last week we had to create a wiki page.  We were put into groups and given different topics.  The topic we were given was 'Education in the last ten years'.  Within the group we were then given different questions and had to find information on each topic and then put it into our wiki.  Our topic was easy in a way as it was when I was in primary school and I was just able to remember how it was and write down information from it.

Reading Week!

Last week was Reading Week.  We had various tasks to complete whilst we were off.  at the beginning of the week I completed the majority of the tasks so that I was able to have most of the week off.  The majority of the tasks were easy, however I did find difficulty completing Sian's assignment but after taking some time on it, I was able to complete.  Whilst on my week of I also went with two of my friends to get a tattoo.  Whilst there I also debated getting another tattoo myself.  The tattoo I want to get it is either a anchor or a swallow on my wrist.

Reflective Learning Articles

There were two reflective learning documents that we had been given to read and summarise.  The first article was 'Blogs as a Reflective Learning Tool'.  This document highlighted why reflecting learning was necessary and how blogging instead keeping a handwritten diary was easier.  The document also involved two different theorists; Kolb and Gibbs.  Kolb created a cycle which consisted of four different experiences from learning; Experiencing, reflection, conceptualization and planning.  Gibbs also had a cycle however his takes in to account an individuals feeling and emotions.  The six stages of his cycle were; Description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan.

In the second document 'Reflective Learning' it spoke about what reflective learner is, the importance of reflection and ways to develop being a reflective learner.  It stated that reflective learners constantly r reflective on what they are learning and how they are learning.  Being a reflective learning is important as it helps an individual develop and work on different learning strategies.  Reflective learners develop by keeping a record of their thoughts and feelings about learning.
